A Gresford Chaconne Grade 2/3
A Gresford Chaconne was commissioned by the Leaman Junior High Band, Amy Bennett, director, to celebrate the retirement of her colleague Ronnie Pruitt. The chaconne setting is an homage to Gustav Holst, whose First Suite for Military Bands begins with arguably the most famous chaconne setting in wind band literature. A sophisticated sounding work within the reach of developing bands.

Westport Overture Grade 3
Westport Overture is the ideal piece for the maturing high school band. Its strong opening polychordal statement sets the foundation for an exciting overture that sounds much more difficult than it is. Rich, complex harmonies lend it a sophisticated tone, while its rhythmic simplicity puts it well within the range of most young high school bands.

Vermilion River Serenade Grade 3
The Vermilion River runs through the heart of my hometown of Lafayette, LA. The tranquil river and its scenic banks, adorned with live oaks draped in Spanish moss, provided the backdrop for early Cajun life as the river was a source of food, communication, travel and commerce. This piece is a "postcard;" an homage to my culture and to the river that brings me great peace every time I encounter its pastoral beauty and serenity.
